ECT Induction Tutor
Employing an ECT brings a fresh perspective and energy to a school or college, yet many schools/colleges find providing both mentor and induction tutor support for the ECT/s alongside the minimum entitlement can be challenging because the school/college either does not have the staff with appropriate skills and experience or that have the capacity. This burden can result in schools and colleges to refrain from appointing ECTs or when they do having to muddle through.
In such situations, or where a school/college wishes to outsource the induction tutor role, I have taken this responsibility - relieving the school of this and also providing the capacity to effectively and fully support an ECT/s.
When I take on the role of induction tutor, I work closely with the school-based mentor to offer seamless and high quality ECT support, guidance and challenge.
If this would be of benefit to your school/college, please take a look at my detailed induction tutor package and/or email me to set up an informal conversation.

ECT Induction Programme
Imagine having an ECT programme that is specifically designed for your school.
I can work with you to design a two-year ECT programme that not only meets the ITTECF but also aligns with your school's values, vision, context and priorities.
The programme, that is hosted on my course platform enables ECTs to access a module by module programme, track their progress and engage with multimodal learning without having to take full days out from school as this is all online.
The benefit is that the programme can be accessed by other staff who can be directed to engage with specific modules to support their development.
I was approached initially by a special school to write a programme for them as they found the 'standard offer' was not relevant for their contact and that ECTs were not gaining as much as they could from the sessions.
I produced a two-year programme for this school that was highly praised by the appropriate body, school and ECTs alike.
Find out more on my ECT Induction Support page or email me to set up an informal conversation.
Coaching
I define coaching as:
A creative, challenging and thought-provoking process where the coach creates a psychologically safe space for the client to explore, unpick and reflect upon issues and behaviours to achieve ambitious goals and desired outcomes that are personally and professionally transformative.
Coaching is a thought-provoking, dynamic and transformational process and professional development strategy that creates space for those working at any level and with any number of years experience of working in education to explore their personal and professional development, challenges, career trajectory, skills, capabilities, areas for improvement and behaviours.
Engaging in coaching supports you in addressing challenges, achieving your goals, enhancing your performance and reaching your potential by taking a systemic approach that considers perspectives of a range of stakeholders including leaders, colleagues, students and parents and offer new insight and ways of seeing situations that enables you to thrive in your role.
Coaching provides the space for you to further develop your self-awareness, emotional intelligence and ability to be highly effective in your role and to achieve both personal, professional and organisational objectives.
Coaching sessions are a safe space where we work one-to-one to explore, challenge and reflect. It is a space that enables you to focus on you rather then the problem or issue, that in turn, provides you with the tools to apply to any role, situation, group or issue.
It is my role as your coach to offer an appropriate level of challenge, to listen intently to what you are saying and what is left unsaid, demonstrate compassion and care and to raise the bar when you thought you had reached it through using a range of relevant tools, techniques and questions.
Through this process, you will develop the self-awareness, skills, approaches and behaviours that will enhance your practice, behaviours and thinking whilst addressing any limiting beliefs that may be holding you back and ultimately develop the skills to self-coach.
Coaching can be accessed by any individual directly, but can also be offered by the school/college where it is thought that coaching may provide the support, space and challenge to enable the staff member to flourish and thrive irrespective of their role or experience.
Common areas that education professionals bring to coaching are:
-
Leading change
-
Developing leadership skills and qualities and exploring leadership styles, values and approaches
-
Leading a department or team
-
Developing confidence and over-coming imposter syndrome when taking on a new role

Mentoring

The relationship may cover a wide variety of contexts and is an inclusive two-way partnership for mutual learning that values differences”.
Mentoring provides support for individuals at any stage of their career, develop personally and professionally to become more effective within their role.
