The Rising Professional

Do you want to develop both professionally and personally?
Are you ambitious and aspirational?
Do you want to be better?
Are you driven to progress?
Would you like to achieve whilst maintaining balance and harmony in your life?
I can help by providing a different, creative and bespoke approach that enables you to take the next steps towards your goals.
I work with you to explore your needs through a complimentary introductory meeting where we will design a package of professional and personal development that will support you in defining and realising your aspirations as a developing and rising professional.
Layering up development approaches, engagement and activities offers a personalised and depth to your learning and development in whatever area of work or profession you are, or aspire to be in.
The services below are typically part of personal and professional development. Some focus on just one service whilst others build a development 'package', it is up to you!
Each service can be explored in greater depth on my service pages, by following the links as you read through.
It is not only the services that are built around your needs and ambitions but the timeframe too. There is not set programme of dates, we establish these together to work around your professional and personal commitments and preferences.
Services that rising professionals find particularly beneficial are:

Coaching
I define coaching as:
A creative, challenging and thought-provoking process where the coach creates a psychologically safe space for the client to explore, unpick and reflect upon issues and behaviours to achieve ambitious goals and desired outcomes that are personally and professionally transformative.
Coaching is a thought-provoking, dynamic and transformational process and professional development strategy that creates space for you to explore your personal and professional opportunities, aspirations, goals, challenges, issues, skills, capabilities and behaviours.
Engaging in a coaching programme supports you in realising your potential and becoming who and what you aspire to be through focusing on not only your professional development but also your personal development, self-awareness, wellbeing and emotional intelligence.
Coaching sessions are a safe space where we work one-to-one to explore, challenge and reflect. It is a space that enables you to focus on you rather then the problem or issue, that in turn, provides you with the tools to apply to any role, function or issue. They are a space to identify your way forward, the opportunities that exist and the barriers that may well be in your way.
It is my role as your coach to offer an appropriate level of challenge, to listen intently to what you are saying and what is left unsaid, demonstrate compassion and care and to raise the bar when you thought you had reached it through using a range of relevant tools, techniques and questions.
Through this process, you will develop the self-awareness, skills, approaches and behaviours that will enhance you behaviours, thinking, identity and actions whilst addressing any limiting beliefs that may be holding you back and ultimately develop the skills to self-coach.
Coaching is for you if you aspirational, ambitious and wish to develop yourself in any field or profession. The sessions are shaped to your level of experience, knowledge and skills and are led by you.
Common areas that rising professionals bring to coaching are:
-
Identifying goals, outlining aspirations and exploring success
-
Exploring identity and values
-
Developing confidence and over-coming imposter syndrome
-
Positively approaching conflict
-
Exploring new projects
-
Developing people-centred skills
-
Preparing for promotion
-
Developing resilience
-
Establishing a positive work-life harmony
-
Establishing greater self-awareness to address development needs

Mentoring
The EMCC define mentoring as:
“... a learning relationship, involving the sharing of skills, knowledge, and expertise between a mentor and mentee through developmental conversations, experience sharing, and role modelling. The relationship may cover a wide variety of contexts and is an inclusive two-way partnership for mutual learning that values differences”.
Mentoring supports rising professionals at any stage of your career, and in any industry, to develop your skills, attributes, knowledge, behaviours and critical reflective thinking . Mentoring sessions provide a space to navigate professional challenges, grow in confidence, and build competence, empowering you to take the next step on your professional journey.
In our work together, I bring my experience and expertise as well as an independent and external perspective to work alongside you in developing key aspects of your professional practice, mindset and behaviours.

Breathwork
Professional development should always be complimented with personal development - the two work hand in hand.
As a rising professional it is good to get into the habit of investing in both elements as early as possible.
There are times when you may find that work seems to dominate and time for investment in yourself often gets pushed back or set aside. In the long-term a lack of investment in yourself leads to increased stress, decreased productivity and eventual burnout as well as having negative impacts on your health, which affects you beyond your work.
As part of your personal and professional development engaging in breathwork may be ideal to support your wellbeing and help you to manage stress whilst also improving your sleep.
The benefits of breathwork include:

I am a certified breathwork and grounding practitioner and run:
fortnightly 1 hour breathwork sessions online - an easy way to access guided breathwork on a regular basis and practice a range of techniques that support your overall health and wellbeing.
6-week breathwork courses where you learn a range of breathwork techniques across the 6 weeks and develop a breathwork toolkit to call upon as needed.
1:1 or small group breathwork sessions - personalised sessions that focus on supporting your needs. This is ideal to compliment coaching and mentoring.
You can find out more on my breathwork page, here and book online here.
Collaborative Power Hour
The Collaborative Power Hour is a monthly on-line protected space where people come together with one aim:
To Get Stuff Done!
The idea is simple.
You arrive, with a task to do and I invite you to engage in a short reflective/grounding activity.
We then spend around 45 minutes focused on our chosen task. This can be anything from writing a report, dedicating time to thinking about a new idea, reading an article, clearing your inbox or getting through the next things on your admin pile...
It is not about volume - it is about focused time.
There is no expectation to interact although I find the accountability of leaving your camera on helps!
After the 45 minutes of focused working I draw the power hour to a close.
This is perfect for you if you want to set aside time to move ahead and focus and a great complimentary activity to my other services.
Find out more about the collaborative power hour, and book your place here.
It is FREE!
Group Coaching
Group coaching is an alternative to 1:1 coaching and is easier on the budget.
Group coaching sessions tend, however to follow a programme across a series of sessions in a group of like-minded people. Group work, however, is not the intention. The intention is to create a protected and reflective space for you to engage in the group coaching focus.
I offer a range of themes for group coaching that will explore key areas of personal and professional development for rising professionals. It might be that a group coaching programme suits your needs and offers you the space you need to focus on your own personal and professional development.
For more detail take a look at my group and team coaching page.
1:1s
1:1s are one of the most powerful tools for transformation and the establishment of a positive culture within an organisation. Yet, all too often little attention is paid to the quality of 1:1s.
Most organisations offer 1:1s in some form or other but all too often these are not effective or impactful, and all too often are re-scheduled or cancelled when 'more important things crop up'.
As a rising professional and someone who is focused on developing at a pace, you may find accessing regular 1:1s beyond your organisation useful and compliment your workplace 1:1s that you already engage with.
There are some good reasons for accessing additional, external 1:1s:
-
To explore issues, topics and challenges that you are not wishing to explore with your line manager.
-
To discuss and agree robust next steps and actions that are pertinent to you and your growth and development
-
To be held to account for undertaking any established actions.
-
To gain a new perspective.
1:1s are not the same as mentoring as they focus on an accountability framework rather than the notion of working alongside to support and develop you.
Find out more about what I offer with regards to 1:1s here.
